- сражение при Литтл-Бигхорн (1876), между кавалерийским отрядом ген. Джорджа Кастера [Custer, George A.] и несколькими группами индейцев вблизи р. Литтл-Бигхорн в Монтане. Кастер преследовал группу индейцев сиу, которые под предводительством Сидящего Быка [*Sitting Bull] с оружием в руках поднялись против заселения их страны белыми поселенцами. Кастер недооценил силы индейцев и проиграл сражение. Индейцы уничтожили всех до единого солдат Кастера, включая самого Кастера. В историю это событие вошло тж. под назв. «Последний бой Кастера» [‘Custer's Last Stand']
